Hee Woon's Story
Heewoon recently completed her Master’s degree in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University. She previously earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Science and a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certificate from Saginaw Valley State University in 2008.
Heewoon is anchored in the belief that God actively walks with us through every experience,
both joyous and painful. With warmth and genuine care, Heewoon creates a safe space for
individuals to explore their vulnerabilities, anxieties, and hopes. Heewoon utilizes her extensive
knowledge of scripture and therapeutic techniques to navigate issues such as relationship
struggles for marriage and family conflicts, grief and loss, and dealing with anxiety and
depression. Heewoon is a certified PREPARE/ ENRICH Facilitator to builds strong marriages
and healthy relationships. Heewoon also received a Suicide Prevention Certificate from Light
University, covering assessment, intervention, and recovery.
Heewoon is bilingual since she was originally born in South Korea and moved to the United
States at age 15. From this background, she is passionate about helping immigrant parents and
children with cultural issues related to their life transitions.
Heewoon has experience working with Christian international school students as a teacher
assistant and is currently working as a PWCS substitute for three years. As a pastor’s wife and a
mother of three children, Heewoon has had many experiences with children. This has led her to
be passionate about children and adolescents. Through prayer and scripture exploration with
therapeutic skills, she empowers individuals to discover their inner strength and find renewed
hope in the face of adversity.
Heewoon enjoys her time playing piano and singing the Korean gospel. She loves to spend time
with her children watching Christian YouTube channels and worshiping together. Heewoon and
her husband are passionate about serving the young married couple and single adults at her local church.
